Established in 1992, Education Africa strives to reach and uplift the poorest of the poor children of South Africa. Their aim is to assist disadvantaged South Africans in our quest to achieve a level of education which will ensure that they are in a position to become global citizens and a competitive, productive element in the local job market.
Make a Face Campaign
The 'MAKE A FACE - transform a life' campaign has seen internationally renowned personalities lending their support to Education Africa by painting blank masks for auction at this years gala dinner, held at the May Fair Hotel in London on March 31st 2009, with the auction, held by Sotheby’s UK Deputy Chairman Lord Dalmeny raised over £500,000.

Gala Dinner 2009
The 2009 Gala Dinner once again recognised outstanding contributions towards relieving the plight of vulnerable and disadvantaged children and young people in Africa, by presenting Mike Geoghegan CBE with the 2009 Education Africa Allegiance Award.
During this gala event we auctioned masks specially designed by internationally renowned personalities as part of the "Make a Face – Transform a Life" - campaign - raising over £500,000.

As a result of the funds raised over the last 3 years we have been able to help in many ways, here are just some examples:

New school facilities have been built in townships serving hundreds of disadvantaged children and their wider communities.

Bicycles have been distributed as part of Cycle Aid for Africa helping children without transport get to school.

Edu-bike Africa Teacher Training ensures another 27,000 children will receive a better standard of education.
