Education Africa and the National Peace Secretariat held the Golden Doves of Peace Awards ceremony on 7 June 1994.
The awards were presented to unsung heroes of the peace process who were nominated by their local communities. Special awards were also presented to Nelson Mandela, Jacqui Mofokeng and Dr Antonie Gildenhuys.
