We believe that an important way of helping communication is to inform South Africans of what is happening in terms of education. In this way, we feel that a greater insight into policies can be reached, as well as a better understanding of their objectives.
The book consists of a series of well-illustrated articles on topical issues in education, written by recognised experts. Six issues of Education Africa Forum have been published and articles have included the following topics: HIV/Aids in education; drugs and alcohol abuse among South Africa's schoolchildren; teacher training and development; language policies; the supply of textbooks to schools; pupils' migration and the effect this has on schooling; safety and security in schools; science and technology education; the crisis on our university campuses; and international trends in education, to mention but a few. Every issue of Education Africa Forum also contains a comprehensive section on statistics relevant to education, thus ensuring that the book becomes a useful reference guide.
Education Africa Forum is financed by companies and organisations who purchase advertising/advertorial space in the book.

"Education is not something that can be enforced haphazardly - there must be constant review of our efforts; we must identify problems and find creative solutions. This annual is a welcome contribution towards according education the priority it deserves."
